Whitney Leavitt to headline new Hulu family reality series

Whitney Leavitt will produce and star in a new reality television series for Hulu. The streaming service has not yet announced a title or a premiere date for the project. Deadline reported that the show will follow Leavitt and her family as they manage her rising profile and professional goals. The premise emphasizes that the family remains the top priority in their public life.

Leavitt first teased the project on Instagram on Wednesday. She collaborated with Hulu and the account @GetRealHulu for a video that confirmed long-standing fan speculation. The post included the caption "see you soon." This announcement follows her May departure from the fifth season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

Her exit from that series coincided with her final performance as Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago. In a September 4 interview on Good Morning America, Leavitt described her decision to leave as the end of a specific chapter in her life. She noted that she had attempted to depart the show several times in the past. Leavitt stated that this final departure concluded well for the cast.

The new Hulu series is the latest addition to her recent professional schedule. Leavitt is also set to star in the Netflix holiday romantic comedy All for Love. That film is scheduled to release on November 24. She will also begin performing in the Broadway production Just in Time on December 1.

Her presence in entertainment media has expanded rapidly since her time on Dancing with the Stars season 34. The Hulu deal represents her first lead role in a series produced specifically for that platform. No further details regarding the show's format or episode count have been released.
