The Dallas Cowboys enter Monday night’s game as a 4.5-point favorite against the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams are fighting to end losing streaks. The Cowboys have dropped their last two games. The Eagles have lost four in a row. This matchup at Lincoln Financial Field decides the current leader in the NFC East.

Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET. The over/under for total points is 43.5. Dallas holds a 2-4 record, including 1-1 within the division. Philadelphia also sits at 2-4, with a 1-0 record in division play. Both teams are 1-3 against opponents from the NFC this season.

The Eagles face a major injury to their quarterback position. Jalen Hurts is out due to blood clots and may miss the rest of the year. Tanner McKee will start in his place. The Eagles also listed receiver DeVonta Smith as out with a hamstring injury. Running back Saquon Barkley is questionable with a hamstring issue, though he is expected to play.

Dallas’ offense has slowed down over the past two weeks. The team averaged 14.5 points per game during that stretch. Quarterback Dak Prescott completed 58 of 96 passes for 574 yards and two touchdowns. He threw four interceptions in those two games. One other interception was nullified by a penalty against Green Bay.

Philadelphia’s scoring has been stagnant as well. The Eagles averaged 14.5 points over their last four games. McKee struggled in his first start last week against the Carolina Panthers. That game ended in a 25-14 loss. McKee completed 26 of 45 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown.

SportsLine analyst Emory Hunt is leaning toward the Under 43.5 combined points. The Under has hit in four of the last five head-to-head matchups between these teams. It also hit in both games last season. The Under hit in each of Dallas’ last two games, including a 23-13 loss at Green Bay in Week 6. It is 3-1 in Philadelphia’s last four games.

Hunt has a strong record against the Eagles. He is 31-18-2 on his last 51 NFL picks involving Philadelphia. That record returned $1,085 to $100 players. Over the past three seasons, he is 132-111-2 in the NFL. His overall return for that period is $1,075 for $100 players. Hunt believes one specific factor makes one side of the spread a strong bet.
