Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 in heavy rain at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to tie Manchester City for the lead in the Premier League. The result erased a three-point deficit and placed both clubs at 21 points after eight matchweeks.

The match featured two players marking career milestones. Ezri Konsa opened the scoring in the seventh minute, bundling in a rebound from a corner taken by Martin Odegaard. It was Konsa's first goal for the club and Arsenal's first set-piece goal in 13 games. Ben White provided the assist for the second goal in the 68th minute during his 200th appearance for Arsenal. Gabriel headed the ball into the net during his 200th Premier League game.

Manchester City lost their first match of the season at Aston Villa. Nicolas Jackson scored twice for the home side to secure a 2-1 victory. The win marks the third consecutive league game that Villa has won against City. Villa moved to sixth place with 11 points, recording their first home league win of the season.

Jackson put Villa ahead in the sixth minute after a heavy touch by Marc Guehi allowed John McGinn to set up the striker. Erling Haaland equalized for the visitors shortly after halftime by heading in a free kick from Iliman Ndiaye. Jackson won the match in the 60th minute, finishing a cutback from Ibrahim Mbaye with a shot that went under goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

City is currently appealing a finding that they committed 114 breaches of Premier League financial rules. The club maintains it did not violate the rules. Jackson described the situation as just the beginning for his team.

Tottenham Hotspur defeated Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. Mathys Tel scored the final goal in the 87th minute. Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders conceded an own goal in the 77th minute during his first league start. Cole Palmer received a second yellow card in the 80th minute. The result moves Tottenham to 12th place.

Fulham defeated Coventry City 1-0. Oscar Bobb scored the only goal in the 80th minute. Fulham sits 13th in the table, while Coventry is in 19th place.
