The Forest Preserve District of Will County lists three free events for residents near Crete Township starting next week. All activities take place at the Plum Creek Nature Center. The district posts registration details on ReconnectWithNature.org.
Tuesday, November 17, features an after-hours session for children. The Sandhill Cranes program runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and targets ages 3 through 5. Participants will hear a story, take a hike, and play games. The district notes that outdoor activities occur on uneven natural terrain. Families must register by November 12 to secure spots.
Adults can join a trivia night on Friday, November 20. The Sips With Spot event spans 6 to 8 p.m. and restricts attendance to participants aged 21 or older. Players use the Kahoot platform on personal phones or tablets to compete in teams of up to four. The district provides light snacks, while attendees bring their own beer, wine, or mocktail. Registration closes on November 18.
The final event aligns with the holiday season. On Sunday, November 22, the center hosts a live animal feeding from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Visitors of all ages can observe resident animals eating. The program includes a small-plate feast for attendees. Those interested should register by November 19.
Each program costs nothing to attend. The district groups these events under its standard weekly calendar. No paid tickets are required for any of the three listed dates.
