Samsung Japan has released a detailed timeline for the rollout of its newest operating system, One UI 9, which is built on Android 17. The company confirmed that 40 specific Galaxy models will receive the software update in that region.
The update launched in September with the Galaxy S26 series and has since expanded to devices from the previous generation. The newly published list covers a wide range of hardware, including flagship smartphones, foldables, mid-range phones, and various tablets.
Among the flagship devices listed are the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra, S25, S25 Ultra, S24, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, S23, and S23 Ultra. The foldable category includes the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5.
Mid-range phones on the roster include the Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36, and A25. The tablet lineup covers the Galaxy Tab S11, S11 Ultra, S10, S10+, S10 Ultra, S10 FE, S10 FE+, S10 Lite, S9, S9+, S9 Ultra, S9 FE, and S9 FE+. The list also includes the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024), Tab A11, Tab A11+/5G, and Tab Active 5 Pro.
The timing provided by Samsung Japan applies strictly to that market. However, the set of eligible devices is expected to carry over to other regions. The company stated that the updates will arrive in Japan across October and November 2026.
Global rollout is anticipated to extend beyond these dates. Many entry-level devices are likely to receive the software through December and January. The list does not include every possible candidate, such as the Plus versions of recent Galaxy S flagships and many other Galaxy A models.
Samsung will continue to track the worldwide rollout. The company maintains a regularly updated list of devices that have already received the One UI 9 update.
