12 Buttons and 200 Hours: Razer Basilisk V4 Pro Priced at $170
The new mouse adds an AI key and extends battery life, but the redesign pushes existing controls out of comfortable reach for some users.

Razer updated its Basilisk gaming mouse line for the first time in two years. The Basilisk V4 Pro launches today at a price of $169.99 in both black and white finishes.
The device features a right-handed, contoured design with bright RGB lighting. It uses Razer's Focus Pro 50K optical sensor, which supports polling rates up to 8,000 Hz. Connectivity options include 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and USB-C.
The total button count has increased to 12 programmable keys. Two new additions include a third thumb button for AI prompts and a profile switcher beside the left mouse button. The mouse measures 5.02 inches long. This length places the profile button at the front edge, a position Sarah Jacobsson Purewal of Tom's Hardware found difficult to reach with medium-sized hands.
The new AI button occupies the same physical space as the other thumb controls. This placement shifts the existing thumb cluster backward. The reviewer noted that the first thumb button, labeled MB4, became too far away to press comfortably. Although users can remap the keys, the overall thumb layout felt slightly off during testing.
Weight has decreased compared to the previous model. The black version weighs 3.53 ounces, or 100 grams. This is nearly half an ounce lighter than the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K, which weighed 3.95 ounces. Battery life also improved. At a standard 1,000 Hz polling rate over 2.4GHz wireless, the mouse runs for 200 hours. At the maximum 8,000 Hz rate, battery life drops to 54 hours.
The product ships with a USB-A dongle, an adapter, and a 6-foot braided cable. It does not include grip tape or a flexible HyperFlex cable. Razer also released the Mouse Dock V2 Pro for $69.99. This standalone charging dock includes an integrated 8,000 Hz receiver and eight RGB zones.
The V4 Pro sits between the DeathAdder V4 Pro and the Naga V3 Pro in Razer's lineup. The sensor tracks on most surfaces, including glass at least 4mm thick. The switches are rated for more than 100 million clicks.
