OnePlus has launched the stable version of ColorOS 17 for the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 in India. This rollout began on October 23, which is one week ahead of the company’s original plan to release the update on October 29. The software is built on Android 17 and is the first stable build to fully replace the OxygenOS interface on these models.

The shift ends the long-running use of OxygenOS, a customized layer that OnePlus had maintained for global markets. As the company scaled back most of its global operations, it announced that existing devices would move to ColorOS. This update represents the final step in that transition for the two newest flagship devices. The software had been available in beta for some time before this stable release.

OnePlus described the new system as a tool for reducing friction in daily use. The company stated that ColorOS 17 brings "smarter experiences" and "smoother interactions." It framed the update around the concept of "Flow with AI, Flow Everywhere." The goal is to help users turn ideas into finished work with AI assistance and to move between tasks and devices with less effort.

The OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 are the only devices in this initial wave. Other models have been confirmed for the update, including the previous generation of flagships and various Nord series phones. The next group of devices to receive the software is scheduled for October 30. This second wave will include the OnePlus 13.

The early launch comes after a period of major changes for the brand. Reports indicated that the OnePlus 15 and other models sold out in the United States after the company reduced its global footprint. OnePlus has also recently unveiled the OnePlus 16, a new device featuring a 9,000 mAh battery. The company has not yet confirmed specific dates for the update to reach regions outside of India.

The stable rollout makes the new software available to regular users in the Indian market. The update includes the features and AI tools described by OnePlus in its release notes. The company confirmed that the software is now live for the two specified models.

The next scheduled milestone for the ColorOS 17 rollout is October 30. On that date, the update will reach the OnePlus 13 and other confirmed devices. The initial early arrival in India sets the pace for this subsequent distribution.
