Jonathan Taylor may play his final regular season game in an Indianapolis Colts uniform this Sunday.
The NFL trade deadline arrives on Tuesday, November 10, at 4 p.m. The 2-6 Colts face the 3-5 Dallas Cowboys at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, November 8, with kickoff at 1 p.m. If a trade is executed before the deadline, that contest would mark the end of Taylor’s seventh season in Indianapolis.
Taylor has rushed for 610 yards and scored eight touchdowns this season. He enters this stretch after the franchise parted ways with two other key players. General Manager Chris Ballard was fired, leading to the trade of offensive guard Quenton Nelson to Seattle and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to San Francisco.
Taylor stated that he attempts to block out the trade rumors to maintain his performance. He explained that he follows the same routine every week because it has worked throughout his career. He noted that while his pregame routine has evolved, he avoids adding external factors that could alter his play.
The running back described the home games as emotionally demanding because of the fans' presence. He said he takes pride in the crowd coming to see a quality product and never takes the opportunity for granted. He emphasized the need to cherish home games more than away matchups.
Taylor said the team is now focused solely on preparing for the Cowboys. He noted that nothing else matters after the previous week's performance. He stated that the team must provide the fans with a win and a premium product, noting that they cannot repeat their last week's output.
