Tammy Bishop is asking strangers in Las Vegas to check their pockets, floorboards, and vehicle seats for a gold wedding ring. The South Dakota woman lost the band belonging to her husband, Will Mulroy, the night of their marriage. Mulroy died just three days after the ceremony, making the missing item a final physical link to their brief time together.
The couple exchanged vows on October 20 at the Viva Las Vegas Chapel. They spent the evening on a party bus touring the Strip. At one stop at a bar, Mulroy looked down and noticed his finger was bare. Bishop said he began to cry immediately upon realizing the ring was gone.
Bishop believes the ring slipped off because it fit loosely. Mulroy had lost weight before the wedding, rendering the band two sizes too big. It likely detached while he transferred into his wheelchair or while the bus rolled along the Strip. The couple backtracked their route and alerted the bus driver, but the search turned up nothing.
The following day, Bishop joked that he had not even kept the ring on for 24 hours. She said they would replace it. That plan changed when Mulroy fell ill on the way home. He was in significant pain and planned to visit the emergency room upon returning to South Dakota. The next morning, he was too congested to work. Bishop could not wake him and called 911. Doctors declared him brain dead at the hospital. He remained on life support for 24 hours before his heart stopped for the third time in the ER.
The couple met in July 2023 and started dating in March 2024. A motorcycle accident one week after they began dating left Mulroy paralyzed. He persisted in asking her to marry him. This summer, she agreed. On her October 4 birthday, Mulroy revealed he had already booked a Vegas wedding and invited her friends. Bishop described it as a perfect day where he was on cloud nine.
Mulroy worked at Fleet Farm and had prior experience operating party buses. The couple had plans to start their own party bus business. Bishop described him as mechanically inclined and hands-on. He rarely needed outside help to fix things.
Bishop hopes a stranger finds the ring. The band was blessed before the wedding. She said the ring represented Mulroy and the depth of what the marriage meant to him.
She said finding it would mean a lot. The rings were blessed, and that was their wedding ring. That was him and how much it meant to him. That is why it means so much to her.
