Savannah Guthrie issued a new public appeal on Sunday regarding the missing status of her mother, Nancy Guthrie. The 84-year-old woman has been absent from her residence in the Tucson area for nine months.
Guthrie, who hosts the program Today, addressed followers on Instagram. She described her mother as a light in the world and asked for assistance to provide her with dignity. The post included a drawing from Guthrie’s daughter featuring an umbrella in the rain. The artwork contained the handwritten message, I know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy.
Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home on Feb. 1. Local and federal law enforcement officials report that they do not have a suspect or person of interest. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department stated Friday that its investigators traveled to Florida. The team met with scientists to advance DNA analysis in the case.
The Guthrie family is offering a $1 million reward for information that leads to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie. The organization 88-CRIME is offering a $102,500 reward, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering a $100,000 reward. These funds apply to information leading to her location or the conviction of those responsible.
Authorities ask individuals with information to call 88-CRIME at 520-882-7463 or the FBI at 1-800-225-5324. The FBI’s Phoenix Field Office can be reached at 623-466-1999. Digital tips can be submitted at tips.fbi.gov.
